2014 SCOPE Galleries Art Award
The theme for the SCOPE Galleries Art Award 2014 is Art Concerning Environment. The Award is non-acquisitive and carries a $5,000 prize to be awarded to one entry. Australian artists and artists residing in Australia for 12 months or more and over the age of 18 years are eligible to enter.

LETHBRIDGE 10 000 Small Scale Art Award
The Lethbridge Gallery has established a strong reputation for exhibiting works demonstrating exceptional detail and creativity. With the intention of fostering the next generation of artists, Lethbridge Gallery initiated the Lethbridge 10000 Now in its fifth year, this exciting art competition is open to national and international artists for small-scale artworks. Entrants may submit paintings, drawings, photographs and all 2D artworks up to 61cm (24 inches) in any direction. The judging is based on three equally evaluated criteria of creativity, originality and skill with $10 000 awarded to the winner.

2014 John Fries Award
The annual non-acquisitive award of $10,000 is open to emerging artists of all ages and disciplines, who are Australian or New Zealand citizens or who have been resident in Australia or New Zealand for the 12 months prior to 6 May 2014. In 2014 the entry criteria has been simplified and only requires that entrants self-identify as emerging artists.

Kogarah Art Prize
The City of Kogarah Art Prize is an annual acquisitive art competition open nationally to entrants for a painting in any medium. There is a prize pool of $12,000 and an open theme. The finalists’ exhibition runs from 17th June-13th July.

2014 City of Albany Art Prize
A national, acquisitive prize for painting The City of Albany Art Prize is open to living Artists working in Australia and features a $25,000 major acquisitive prize as well as a range of non-acquisitive awards. The major acquisitive prize also includes a 4 week studio residency in a self-contained cottage at the Vancouver Arts Centre in Albany with $2,500 for associated expenses. Held at the historic Town Hall in the centre of Albany, The City of Albany Art Prize plays an important role in the cultural and economic development of the Great Southern region in Western Australia. The Prize is integral to the ongoing development of the City’s already sizeable Art Collection via the major acquisitive prize, which is sponsored by The Jack Family Charitable Trust.

The Mandorla Art Award
The theme for 2014 is ‘Elijah meets God’, taken from 1Kings 19:11b-13.Two categories are offered — The Mandorla Art Award for artists aged 18 and over, and The Mandorla Youth Art Award for artists aged 16 to 25 — with a total prize pool of $42,000.

The d’Arcy Doyle Art Awards 2014
2014 is the 10th Anniversay of the tribute to Australia's Landscape Artist d'Arcy Doyle and to encourage emerging artists. With total prize money $17,500, the primary overall prize of $10,000 is awarded in the Landscape section. Portrait/Figures and Still Life are the other categories. Exhibition is held 02 - 13 July Mudgeeraba, Gold Coast.
2 June 2014 GET A ROOM - 4heads/Governors Island Art Fair
4heads is seeking independent artists worldwide working in all disciplines (painting, photography, sculpture, installation, video, sound art and more) to apply for the 2014 Governors Island Art Fair - New York’s Largest Independent Exhibition. More than 100 artists of exceptional talent will be chosen to show their art (in a room of their own) this September amongst the sprawling landmark architecture of historic Governors Island. Founded by 4heads, a group of New York artists, this event champions a new model for art fairs by putting the artists and the visitors first. The artists’ exhibition space is free. Admission to the fair is free. And this frees up artists, both emerging and established, to present their work - their way - at no cost at a unique, world-class venue in New York City.

Waverley Art Prize
Waverley Council provides support to the Waverley Woollahra Art School to produce the annual Waverley Art Prize competition and art show now it's 28th year. It prize attracts nearly 400 entries for the $5000 Open Prize and 9 other categories sponsored by Matisse Derivan, Art Spectrum, Shillington College, The Sydney Art Store and Sinead Davies The Waverley Art Prize is grateful for its loyal sponsors Art Spectrum and Matisse Derivan and new sponsors Shillington College of Graphic Design and the Sydney Art Store.

Flanagan Art Prize
Australian artists over the age of 18 years (Australian citizen or resident in Australia for the past 12 months with entitlements to engage in paid employment). - The Exhibition will feature The Flanagan Art Prize ($5000), sponsored by Viatek, the Emerging Artist Prize ($1500), sponsored by Federation University, and the Affordable Art Prize ($500), sponsored by Lifestyle Travel Ballarat. All are acquisitive. All winners will become part of the St Patrick's College Ballarat art collection. - Must be the original artwork of the artist whose name appears on the entry form and must not infringe on copyright. - Artwork must have been completed after January 1, 2013 to be eligible for consideration by the Judging Committee.

Neerim District Community Bank Art Prize
The ‘Neerim District Community Bank Art Prize - Neerim Bower Acquisition’ is open to sculptural pieces reflecting the theme ‘Inspired by Birds’ with a total cash prize of $10,000 to acquire public art, to be installed in Neerim South. Selected entries will be displayed at an exhibition in Neerim South from 18 October to 9 November, 2014.

The Tidal: City of Devonport Art Award 
An acquisitive award open to artists living in Australia. The Tidal: City of Devonport Art Award is a biennial, acquisitive award exhibited every two years at the Devonport Regional Gallery. Artists residing in Australia are invited to submit 2-dimensional artworks that reflect on the theme of tidal – the natural, cultural, personal or political concerns related to the sea and coastal regions.
The Award aims to:
• Encourage experimentation within and across mediums relative to 2-dimensional works of art
• Present a stimulating and diverse exhibition of contemporary Australian art practice to the Devonport Community and visitors to the region
• Promote excellence in contemporary visual art that reflects on natural, cultural, personal or political concerns related to the sea, coastal regions and coastal communities THE AWARD $15,000 Major Award sponsored by the Devonport City Council and the Devonport Regional Gallery Friends Committee. $1,000 People’s Choice Award sponsored by Collins Real Estate, Devonport. A Non-acquisitive Award selected by the viewers of Tidal. The Award will be announced at the conclusion of the exhibition. SELECTION AND JUDGING Judges The judging panel consists of two nationally recognised art experts who will select the finalist’s works, and will then determine the winner of the Major Award. Creative Kids Tales 2014 Illustrators Competition
Winners will be announced on the Creative Kids’ Tales website on 1 December 2014 and all prizes will be distributed by 31 December 2014. Prizes: • 1st Prize - The winning entry will form the cover of the first Creative Kids Tales anthology in Smashwords. Plus one year’s free membership to Creative Kids Tales. • 2nd Prize - $50 book pack and one year’s free membership to Creative Kids Tales. • 3rd Prize – One year’s free membership to Creative Kids Tales. • All entrants will receive a certificate of participation. • The winning entry will form the cover of our eBook. The top three names will be displayed on the Creative Kids Tales website and form part of our next archive update with the National Library. Conditions of Entry: Submissions must be original artwork by the addressee only. Your entry must not have been accepted for publication or won a prize in any other competition at time of submission. Entries by Australian residents aged between 18 - 110 years old. Your illustration must appeal to children aged between 5 - 13 years of age. John Leslie Art Prize 2014
The John Leslie Art Prize 2014 is a non-acquisitive prize open to all artists living and working in Australia. Entries must have been completed after 1 August 2012. Artists may submit up to two entries. A non-refundable payment of $35.00 is applicable for each entry. An entry will consist of a completed entry form, supporting material: digital image(s). Although submitting your artwork online is the preferred, you may wish to fill out a hard copy entry form and send it with supporting material to:

The Kennedy Prize
The prize, offered by the Kennedy Arts Foundation, is based and exhibited in Adelaide but open to Australian artists nationwide, and is awarded to works that embody, comment on or celebrate beauty. The winning artist will receive the Kennedy Prize of $25,000, and their artwork will be acquired by the Kennedy Arts Foundation, toured nationwide and auctioned at the next year’s Kennedy Prize exhibition. The work’s increased recognition, prestige and market value will thus contribute significantly to the prize’s funds, ensuring continued annual growth. The main exhibit will present finalists’ works, demonstrating their exceptional quality. The Foundation’s Choice, a separate exhibition comprising a selection of the remaining entries, will run alongside the main exhibit. The Foundation’s Choice exhibition will showcase the scope of the entries and feature a diverse, exciting array of emerging and established Australian artistic talent. A people’s choice award will also be awarded to the audience’s preferred entrant. The Kennedy Arts Foundation will issue a limited edition print of this artwork for sale, with all profit shared between the foundation and the artist.

Maritime Art Awards & Exhibition
Since 2002 the Mission to Seafarers Victoria maritime art prize has exhibited the work of over 700 artists and fast become recognised as Australia’s leading maritime art award. Prize money awarded to date has exceeded $129,000 and the organisation has raised approximately $180,000 toward the provision of seafarers’ welfare services in Victoria. Now known as the Maritime Art Awards & Exhibition, the award promotes excellence in maritime and seafaring subjects in art and assists in raising the profile of the 1.5 million merchant seafarers responsible for transporting more than 90 per cent of world trade.
